For my film school, we (obviously) need to buy a light meter that suits what you want to do in your future career. As a wannabe Director, what light meter should I get? I know a cinematographer would want a really good one and, say, a gaffer would need just something to get through the class with. I've been looking at the Minolta IV F series and Sekonic L-508, what would you people recommend? Links would be great, thanks!

If you want to be a director get (make friends with) a cinematographer who has a lightmeter.
You never know, being a smart arse in class might just work.
Failing that get the best you can afford -Sekonic is good.
